Refrigerant Heat Exchanger

Refrigerant Evaporator and Condenser

Benefit from our expertise in the production of efficient heat exchangers for hot water tanks. We offer you a broad portfolio of heat exchangers – as a standard variant and customer-specific solution, tailored exactly to your needs. Our Truco ® coaxial condensers are characterized by perfect heat transfer, which is achieved through a special design of the flow paths. In addition, the countercurrent principle, which is favorable for heat transfer, is implemented, which at the same time enables extensive use of the superheating heat of the refrigerant vapor and subcooling of the liquid refrigerant. The economical and efficient Truco ® coaxial evaporators have long been equipped with finned tubes or tubes with a special surface structure, which significantly improve the heat transfer from the tube wall to the evaporating refrigerant. </ P >

High specific evaporating capacity by using high performance enhanced surface evaporator tubes.

Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator are used for the evaporation of refrigerants. The Coaxial Heat Exchanger from copper are suitable for evaporation of refrigerants by heating media such as heating water ground water and heat carriers with glycol additions.
Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator Heat Exchange rare used for:
➔ Heat pumps
➔ Refrigeration and cooling units
➔ Heat recovery units
➔ Air conditioning cabinets
➔ Temperature stabilizers

Permissible range of application of Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator
For sea water or water from rivers and lakes – the cupro-nickel construction can be used. The suitability of the heating medium used for the material chosen (copper or cupro-nickel) must be verified by the user tor the individual case.

For a long time economic and efficient refrigerant evaporators have been equipped with finned tubes or tubes with extended surfaces, resulting in a greatly improved heat transfer from the tube wall to the
evaporating refrigerant. The optimum heat transfer of the Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator Heat Exchanger is achieved by the application of high performance enhanced surface evaporator tubes and by the correct control of the flow paths on the refrigerant and heating medium sides. Furthermore the counterfl ow heat exchange principle for improved heat transfer is applied. The Coaxial Evaporator Heat Exchanger consist of one or more evaporator tubes in a plain outer shell tube. This tube system is bent to obtain coils and other forms of construction. The heating medium, water or other heat carriers with glycol additions, flows on the shell side. The evaporating refrigerant counter-flows through the evaporator tubes. By the appropriate adjustment of the expansion valve a superheating of the refrigerant vapour of some degrees is obtained. Therefore dry refrigerant vapour can always be fed to the compressor.

An approved distribution system ensures that refrigerant is distributed to the individual high performance evaporator tubes and provides high specific evaporating capacity, when compared with traditional systems. By means of spacers the vibration of the evaporator tubes in the shell space is eliminated. Furthermore a uniform circulation of the heating medium around the evaporator tubes is achieved. For a capacity range up in about 57 kW we supply six standard evaporators in coil form. Dimensions and nominal capacities of the standard evaporators can be taken from the following diagram.

For the Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator Heat Exchanger the following materials are used:

Permissible range of application of Schmöle Coaxial Evaporator Heat Exchanger in heat pumps and refrigeration units, the relevant requirements and the actual operating conditions have to be respected. In order to obtain the indicated evaporating capacities the evaporators have to be mounted horizontally. The refrigerant liquid line must be connected to the top of the evaporator. In addition horizontal installation of the evaporators permits draining of the heating medium. In order to eliminate the influence of the unavoidable refrigerant side pressure drop to the regulation of the expansion valve it is recommended to install expansion valves with outer pressure equalization. The connections of the evaporators are suitable tor capillary brazing. Brazing of connections must be carried out with all
necessary care using low melting point brazing solders.

For increased corrosion stress – e.g. the copper-nickel version can be selected for seawater or water from rivers and inland lakes. The suitability of the heating medium used for the selected material (copper or copper-nickel) must be checked by the user in individual cases.

In the Schmöle coaxial heat exchanger condensers, high condensation capacities are achieved through the use of finned tubes. The finned tubes are centered in the jacket tube using spacers. This ensures an optimal flow around the counterflow principle. The heat transfer from the condensing refrigerant to the pipe wall is significantly improved by the enlarged outer surface of the Schmöle Trufin S / T finned pipes.

Depending on the size, the Schmöle coaxial heat exchanger condensers consist of one or three finned tubes in a jacket tube. The superheated refrigerant vapor is applied to the jacket space of the coaxial heat exchanger. The refrigerant vapor first cools down, then condenses on the outer surface of the finned tubes. The resulting condensate flows into the lower area of the jacket space.

The cooling medium flows through the inner tubes in counterflow. As a result of the overheating heat, high outlet temperatures are achieved and the condensate is supercooled. For the power range up to about 56 KW, eight power sizes are supplied in spiral or spiral form. The spiral-shaped capacitors are well suited for parallel connection due to their low height.

The dimensions and guide power are shown in the following table:

When installing Schmöle coaxial condensers in heat pumps and refrigeration systems, the relevant steps and the expected operating conditions must be taken into account. To achieve the specified condensation capacities, the evaporators must be installed horizontally, the refrigerant vapor line must be connected to the condenser at the top. The horizontal installation also enables the condenser to be emptied
