Tube Bundle Heat Exchanger
RW shell-and-tube heat exchangers consist of a bundle of powerful corrugated tubes made of copper or copper-nickel, which are soldered into a housing made of copper or copper-nickel. The special corrugated pipes manufactured by Schmöle have a large number of depressions or corrugations that are stamped into the pipe wall from the outside. The structures created on the outer and inner surface ensure a significantly improved heat transfer compared to smooth pipes. Baffles create an overflow around the pipes in the jacket space.
In the case of the tube bundle heat exchanger of the RW-B version, the heating water is guided on the tube side, whereby the process water flowing in counterflow on the jacket side is heated.
In RW-S and RW-F heat exchangers, the heating water flows around the corrugated pipes in the jacket space. The swimming pool water or the water in the floor circuit is guided and heated through the corrugated pipes in counterflow.
RW shell-and-tube heat exchangers are manufactured in six different output sizes, with the outer diameter of the jacket pipes and the overall height being the same for all output sizes. The length, which changes depending on the size of the output, can be seen in Figures 1 and 2

The structures created on the outer and inner surface ensure a significantly improved heat transfer compared to smooth tubes. A cross flow around the pipes is generated in the jacket space by baffles.
